Swtor reshade11/1/2023 ![]() Now, i know that swtor needs to be able to run on a wide variety of machines. The bottom line - it is doing something that can already be done by the developers if they so chose, without the need for 3rd party software. In other words, while its not how the devs may have intended, it is just playing with the capabilities inherent to video cards (nvidia in this case). ![]() Now, second, let me point something out - i am not asking for the devs to permit use or integrate reshade.īioware's official stance on it is "caveat emptor" - its not banned but use 3rd party tools at your own risk.Īll reshade is, is a program that tweaks and adjusts the assets in the game to be shaded or rendered differently to give a much more atmospheric visual impact. So, first let me give a couple videos on what re-shade does: Then you also no longer need to worry about people trying a 3rd party app to enhance the visuals of the game. It's a staple of their beliefs.īut I ask - when there is already a setting for Ultra Graphics in SWTOR, and with much more powerful video cards out now from when SWTOR launched, why not take a look at what Reshade did, and allow something similar for those who chose to play on Ultra settings? And at least this way, it isn't tied to just nVidia cards, those who play on top end equipment can get a visual WOW that can make people reconsider all the calls for a graphics engine overhaul that will never come anyway, and like any other settings in the game, allow people who just like the old style to turn it off. I was following someone's instructions that enables depth buffers with MSAA on by using Reshade with DXVK and it gave me my depth buffers back. Yeah I already had MSAA disabled when it stopped working suddenly. Fir lost option you have reshade plugin to compensate. UPDATE: Running Reshade with DXVK solved my problem and is back to normal! Disable anti aliasing in game preference to make depth buffer works. If anyone knows what happened or can help fix I would really appreciate it. I have used Reshade RTGI on swtor for years and it never had any issues until now. I have never encountered something like this. I didn't change any of the settings in reshade or swtor that have always worked. Originally posted by Bombad Jedi:Can anyone confirm if RTGI for Reshade still works? It was working fine at first, but then in the middle of a quest the depth buffer just stopped working and went blank. I'm starting to suspect the recent update may have changed something and I am now trying to get confirmation from others if it still works with the recent update. The Lighting channel and Normal channel can register some stuff, but not everything like it use to. Now when I use it with the same settings I have always used, RTGI just darkens the entire screen and RadiantGI is as you just described. I know from personal experience it worked for the past 2 years since I started using it. Many others and I can confirm it works in Pascal Gilcher's Discord with multiple people posting compatibility options. Both RTGI and RadiantGI worked fine when I reversed the depth buffer and disabled MSAA. Maybe dof issue? Depth buffer can work correctly in swtor. If you entirely lost all depth buffer i couldnt say why. Game engine has some sort of depth buffer related limitation that they either didnt or outright couldnt fix when they added ambient occlusion themselves. If I recall radiant GI shader can work but it doesnt do any ambient occlusion. For me any AO effect had same issues as games vanilla ao. ![]() Originally posted by Doom Sayer:It never should have worked correctly in the first place. ![]()
